This time, Vans used a pair of pure white Authentic as the base. Bolin took “Escape from the Ordinary” as the theme and painted the entire Authentic upper with the image of the ink-and-wash love skateboard man he created for Vans. On the toe, Bolin also wrote “Escape The Ordinary / Get rid of mediocrity”, and the special crystal outsole was printed with “No Risk, No Story / Without risk, there would be no story”. These two sentences vividly show the spirit of Vans and Bolin, as extreme sports brands, to bravely create and not fear risks. In terms of color matching details, Bolin used dark green close to ink color matching to embellish the shoelaces, waterlines, tongue checkerboards and insoles.
